HACC closely examines the job and industry needs of our community and develops educational pathways that meet those needs. In apprenticeship programs, students work and take classes one or two nights a week at HACC. The skills they gain at the worksite, paired with the technical training they receive through HACC, allows them to “earn as they learn.” Many apprenticeships not only prepare students for the workforce, but provide credits that can be applied to other degree programs.
The EMT apprenticeship is designed with on-the-job training concurrent with in-class instruction in all aspects of emergency medical care that an EMT is permitted to provide throughout Pennsylvania. Participants who successfully complete this program are eligible to take National Registry of EMT certification exams for both Pennsylvania certification and national certification.

Industrial Manufacturing Technicians (IMTs) operate and maintain production equipment, work with manufacturing related tools and perform work processes related to a wide variety of manufacturing settings. Apprentices will learn to set up, operate, monitor and control production equipment. They will also help improve manufacturing processes and schedules to meet customer requirements.
In order to obtain well-rounded training and qualify as a skilled worker in the occupation, the apprentice shall have experience and training in several areas and shall demonstrate competency.
