Academic Accreditation

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency. It is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. It accredited HACC initially in April of 1967. They reaffirmed this accreditation most recently on June 21, 2018. Learn more about HACC's Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has authorized HACC to award the Associate's degree. Specific programs receive national accreditation.

  • The Early Care and Education AAS and the Early Childhood-Elementary Education AA are accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). 1401 H St. NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 20005. 202-232-8777.     CoARC accredits respiratory therapy education programs in the United States. To achieve this end, it utilizes an ‘outcomes based’ process. Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the educational goals of the program are achieved and by which program effectiveness is documented.
