Meet Naja: HACC Student Who Refuses to Quit

“This is the first time I started an education journey and did not give up.”

Naja Grierson-Stephenson proves that a college degree is never out of reach, no matter what your age is. Not only is Naja determined to get an associate degree in social services from HACC, she wants to further her education at a four-year college and work toward a master’s degree in psychology.

“My greatest achievement so far being a student at HACC is not quitting,” she said.

HACC stood out to Naja because of the flexible class options and location. As a student, she especially likes the responsiveness of her professors. She said, “I love that everyone is friendly and resourceful. I like that I can email any faculty member and they respond very quickly.” HACC tutors are another resource Naja appreciates. She said, “The most beneficial thing on campus is the tutors. I like that you can walk in or make an appointment for help.”

Naja chose to study social services because she likes “talking and helping families find helpful information.” Her can-do spirit, life experiences and a hard-earned HACC degree will set her up for a rewarding career in a field that she loves!
