Meet Mariana Saba

“HACC has an extremely diversified environment, where we have contact with students and workers from all over the country and all over the world.”

Mariana Saba moved to the United States after completing nursing school in Brazil. Unfortunately, her international nursing credentials are not recognized in America. She knew HACC’s Nursing Program had a great reputation and decided it would be a “good option for me to work towards my plan of becoming a nurse in the US.”

While uprooting to a new country can be scary, the HACC professors, students and staff helped her to overcome her greatest fear of “going to college in another country and studying in a foreign language.”

HACC has provided Mariana with the opportunity to live in the United States, be close to her family, work towards her education and improve her English. With help from HACC, Mariana was also able to work on campus with her student visa.

Mariana wants others to know that “HACC has an extremely diversified environment, where we have contact with students and workers from all over the country and all over the world.” HACC provides students with the opportunity to “become aware of ‘the world out there.’”

After graduation, Mariana hopes to land a job as a nurse and eventually accomplish her dream of becoming a nurse midwife.
