“[HACC] made it easier to have a balance between work, home and school.”

Emily started her education at a private college, but said the school “did not care if I got good or bad grades, as long as they got their tuition.” She is now studying healthcare management at HACC and says, “HACC helps you no matter how you learn or your educational level. They also do a lot of community work to benefit their students.” Before signing up for HACC classes, Emily said, “I just set my mind to do what I have to do to better myself and I didn’t dwell on things that could go wrong.”

Emily said that HACC “made it easier to have a balance between work, home and school. It’s at my own pace and most of the professors really do care if you succeed in the class.”

Balance is important for Emily, who became a new mother while in school. Emily said she was worried about being able to finish school or get good grades. Despite the challenges, she was able to complete the classes she needed and even made the dean’s list!

The Healthcare Management Program is designed to be flexible enough to transfer to a wide variety of four-year colleges and universities with no loss of credit. After receiving her HACC credential, Emily plans to earn a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and obtain a position as a supervisor or manager in health care.
