What is the cost of attendance?

The Cost of Attendance (COA), also known as the "Student Budget", takes into account direct expenses (tuition, fees, books) and estimated expenses like transportation, personal costs and living expenses. This number is used by the school to determine the maximum amount of financial aid a student can receive for that award year.

Please note that Cost of Attendance does not represent actual charges on a student's account. Actual charges are usually much lower than those shown on the COA chart below. For instance, a student living off-campus or with parents will still have an estimated room and board allowance in his/her COA, but would not be charged by HACC for those items.

Below is the estimated COA for an in-state student attending HACC for the 2021-2022 academic year (Aug-May). Full-time status is based on an enrollment status of 12 credits per term and Part-time status based on 6 credits per term. In-State Tuition and Fees are $276.50 per credit and Out of State $327.50 per credit.
