Nothing says "happy holidays" like pots of beautiful, bright red poinsettias.

Greenhouse Production students in the Ornamental Horticulture Program at HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College have hand-raised 4- and 6 ½-inch pots of the seasonal flowers, which they will sell from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Broad Street Market, Third and Verbeke streets, Harrisburg.

The cost is $3 for a 4-inch pot and $8 for a 6 ½-inch pot containing three plants.

This classroom effort is the first of its kind for the students, who not only raised the flowers but developed a marketing plan as well. HACC launched the Ornamental Horticulture Program this fall.
