Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification
This 180-hour PA Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) approved program is for individuals who are interested in becoming Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators. The team taught curriculum is designed to teach future operators the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively operate plant equipment and maintain control of plant processes. Participants will have the opportunity to take DEP Certification exams and receive experience credit to fast-track towards becoming a DEP Licensed Operator.
Environmental Technician Training Program
This 250-hour course prepares students for an entry level position in the growing field of environmental technician work. Potential employment opportunities in this field include: Environmental Technician, HAZWOPER Technician, Lead Paint or Asbestos Inspector, Brownfield’s Remediation Technician, Land Use Planning / Redevelopment Technician, and others. The training provided in this class will include several certifications, including: OSHA-30 General Construction, HAZWOPER, Confined Space entrant / Attendant, Lead Paint Inspector, Asbestos Inspector, and Forklift Operator, Additionally, instructional topics will cover the basics of environmental science, site assessments, surveying, site planning, waste water, storm water, sampling techniques, lab analysis, regulatory standards, GIS, toxicology, and various remediation techniques.
